Esther Cunningham

Esther Cunningham, a solicitor and a Deputy District Court Judge, was banned from practising law for six months for "bringing the profession into disrepute". The complaints arose from a hearing at Grantham Magistrates' Court in Lincolnshire on 8 November 2006. The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal head that Cunningham appeared drunk during the hearing where she appeared as a solicitor representing her cousin in a dangerous dogs prosecution(!).

The conducts complained of include swearing at the usher and calling the prosecution lawyer obscene name. The solicitor also allegedly forcibly kissed another solicitor. Eventually she had to be escorted from the court room.
